SATURDAY 10th AUGUST
10.30am - 4.30pm
Join Niki Kent for Botanical Monoprinting.
In this one-day workshop: “We will be playfully engaging our imagination to see how the shapes, patterns and textures of various pressed and inked-up plant material appear when transferred onto paper through the etching press. We'll build up our prints with layers of transparent colour to develop rich and exciting images that draw us into a world that reflects the wonder and beauty inherent in the natural world. There'll also be an opportunity to combine prints with some experimental mark-making using the monoprint process.” Niki Kent
Niki is a locally based artist and printmaker: “My creative practice is shaped and inspired by my love of the natural world along with my passion to see people being made whole and healed using holistic approaches to well-being. My vision is to encourage people to cultivate curiosity and journey with me with a child-like sense of awe and wonder as they turn to the natural world to experience joy and a renewed sense of wellness.”
Bring your own plant materials such as leaves or grasses. Ensure they have spent a bit of time being pressed under some heavy books!
